TICKET LINK: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?eventId=6402935&pl=eb&dispatch=loadSelectionData 4) The Big Ship -- NEW album on Fire Talk in January // first Chicago performance in over a year!  http://thebigshipband.bandcamp.com/ Doug Kaplan and Aeron Small make music together as The Big Ship. The duo's studio recordings showcase interwoven guitar performances, lush synth textures, and labyrinthine song structures, encompassing ideas and sounds from classic/southern rock, ambient/drone, jam rock, American roots music, and kraut-rock. Doug and Aeron met at summer camp at a young age and have been best friends, musical collaborators and sometimes roommates ever since. While Aeron attends medical school in Philadelphia and Doug attends art school in Chicago, the duo continue to exchange ideas and record music whenever they find themselves home together. For live performances and select album compositions, The Big Ship expands into a five-piece ensemble featuring Aeron (guitar), Doug (guitar), Max Allison (bass, tapes), Matt Baer (guitar), and Stephen Waller (drums). 3) Billington / Wyche / Shippy Three legends of the Chicago zoner community come together to improvise us into oblivion. 2) TALsounds http://talsounds.bandcamp.com/ Natalie Chami adopted the TALsounds moniker in 2009 for her solo explorations in the drone, ambient, and electro-acoustic improv disciplines. In live performance, Chami's analog synthesizers weave together into drifting loops that evolve in tandem with her vocal leads and choral harmonies. Her meditative sessions stretch into hypnotizing depths of stream-of-consciousness multi-instrumental input, sinking into expanses of infinite sustain and cresting into bursts of noise from an arsenal of oscillators and effects pedals. 1) Kyle Landstra https://kylelandstra.bandcamp.com/ "Landstra transcends the sci-fi kitsch of synthesizer obsession to produce something both hauntingly prophetic and intensely personal; if an analogue-driven apocalypse were to tear down every shred of digital modernity we hold dear, Unshared Properties would be a front-runner for the equivalent of the Book of Revelations... an arpeggiating kaleidoscope of synesthesia-inducing magic that would make Philip Glass more insecure than yours truly during puberty." - Decoder
