Bloops and Bangers is a new monthly excursion into the cross collisions that can come when genres as seemingly disparate as hip hop, drone, and ambient team up and form new sounds. Such musical unions are hardly new (see: DJ Spooky and the Illbient genre, as well as a good portion of UK based electronic/hip hop), and the main purpose of this series is to bring folks within separate sectors of the Chicago music community together where they may previously might not have made contact. For the inaugural installment, we've got solo ambient and drone musicians Passerby, and TALsounds providing textures alongside the beat driven electronics of resident B+B lady, Axons, while emcees Bad Supreme square off alongside B+B host Cochise Soulstar! Visuals will be provided by Ethan JH. The event is ALL AGES and will be held in the Flat Iron Building at the Six Points in Wicker Park at Brainstorm Comics (on the third floor) Brought to you by the good people at Notes and Bolts and Brainstorm Comics!
