About the event

ITASCA + TALSOUNDS ("All The Way" Release Show) + OATH + COOPER CRAIN @ Observatory Studios 7PM Doors | 8PM Music | $7 | Facebook Event

HEY LOOK It's another awesome show at Observatory!! I think I've said this before but there's a species of bird called the fork-trailed drongo that basically spends all day heckling eagles w/ its metallic "shrink shrink" which can alert other animals to run away. I'm no Bird Scientist TM but it's almost like the bird version of speaking truth to power, except that it can also mimic predators to scare off fellow prey and then take their food, and then is like "w/e, gonna go back to faux-dive bombing some hawks and pissing off some owls 'cause that's what i feel".  WITHOUT FURTHER ADO :  ITASCA aka Kayla Cohen, maneuvering all the way from Los Angeles, brings us an elegant farmer's almanac in the form of intimate folk à la Collie Ryan. The perfect soundtrack for a picnic in the British countryside when it looks like California post-global-warming-apocalypse, or the other way around.  http://itasca-music.blogspot.com/ TALSOUNDS, the solo project of Natalie Chami ( also 1/3rd of Good Willsmith), will douse us in electroacoustic jamzones covering the full spectrum from pastel to neon. We're also excited to make this the RELEASE SHOW for her new tape ALL THE WAY coming out on Hausu Mountain.  http://talsounds.com/ http://hausumountain.com/?page_id=2055 OATH is a mysterious new project from poet / Berlin Community Radio affiliate Julia Nowak, in which we will all attempt to hold a seance for the spirit of Ruth White, or so I'm told. WHERE ARE YOU, RUTH?  www.agglutinations.org/jln.html COOPER CRAIN (also of Bitchin Bajas, CAVE) will round it out with Intricate solo organ space-outs. No word yet on whether it will be a collaboration with that field mouse that showed up at the Garfield Conservatory show, but I will definitely keep asking. $7 PS -- This is an EARLY show at the Observatory, meaning -- come hang at 7, music will start at 8PM See you there!
