EARRING is an exciting young band from Chicago that sound kind of like the pleasant tiredness that follows having a really good, exciting night. Maybe like a drunk & slowed-down Galaxie 500, but then they'll tighten it up and play a fast fist-pumper like "Mood Rings". Magical Beautiful are a Chicago four-piece in a constant state of change since 2006. Their 2011 LP Here Come The Wild Waves provided, ((according to Foxy Digitalis), "evidence that a careful hand in recording and a fantastical worldview can indeed produce a truly cohesive album that invokes the spirit and function of the rock’n'roll canon’s masterworks while matching the aesthetic of the very best private press records". Most recently, they can be found playing a more aggressive (but no less distinct) form of psychedelic post-punk spawned by the songwriter's move from keyboards to guitar. Tim Kinsella is a truly original voice in contemporary art. Starting with the punk rock Cap'n Jazz in 1994 and moving forward with the progressive sounds of Joan Of Arc, Owls, Friend/Enemy, Make Believe and sporadic live recordings, Mr. Kinsella has amassed an immense and enigmatic body of work unlike any other. His 2011 novel "The Karaoke Singer's Guide To Self-Defense" is a dense and engrossing work, and in 2013 he released an album singing Marvin Tate's songs (with Angel Olsen and Leroy Bach), a Joan Of Arc album / performance piece and announced a new record by the long dormant Owls project. TALsounds is a vocals and electronics ambient noise project from Chicago's Natalie Chami, wherein she constructs soundscapes simultaneously immense and fragile. TALsounds is a partner-in-vibe with both Popul Vuh and Grouper's Liz Harris. Ms. Chami is also a member of the experimental groups Goodwillsmith & l'éternèbre.
